Paris police detective Cassin, takes a well needed holiday at a country inn, where the owner’s adult daughter shows an interest in him. She disappears one evening and turns up the next day, dead in the river. Her boyfriend’s body is found later on, acid poison still visible on his burnt lips. A crazed killer is on the loose
